We're back home in Maine! Unfortunately we brought more back with us then presents and memories...we also brought back germs. Boo! All the kiddo's but Lacey are sick with a terrible cold...full of gunk and feverish. I'm trying to be grateful that we're getting this all over in one shot but I'll admit having 3 sick little ones at the same time is a bit more challenging then having one sick at a time especially when one is a baby who has a hard time sleeping when all stopped up. So as you can imagine I'm a little tired...and a little behind. The laundry is all clean but NOT put away....I'm talking a sofa full of laundry and then some...the Christmas tree is still up and teasing me...I haven't even had the chance to think about starting the home schooling back up. I feel so behind. But I did manage to unpack the suitcases and get a van load of older toys donated to goodwill before the germs took full effect. Oh and I did find a place for most of the new Christmas toys too so I guess I shouldn't beat myself up too much. Our Christmas went by so fast! That's the way it always feels when we visit home though. It's always a whirlwind...so many people to see, so much going on, and in such a small amount of time. A few highlights :
1. Seeing my cousin David for the first time in YEARS and meeting his pretty amazing wife and son!
2. Loved spending time with my grandparents. Not too many 28 year old's have the opportunity to spend time with their grandparents let alone 3 of them! I'm so blessed to have two grandmothers and a grandfather still living! 3. Giving my Dad a gift that we have been sooo excited to give him and him LOVING it! That felt good :)
4. "Turkey hunt" at moms house! They have a rouge wild turkey wandering the neighborhood and my step dad, the girls, and Ashton all put on hunting hats and chased the turkey around the neighborhood with pool sticks! lol So funny and cuter then cute!
It feels good to be back home despite the germies though and I am looking forward to getting back to normal once everyone is better. So here's to a blessed, Christ centered, happy and healthy new year!!
And a quick thank you to all of the family photographers who took these pictures!
